How do I rabbit proof my garden?

Modified on Sat, 29 Nov, 2014 at 9:45 AM

To rabbit proof your garden, make sure you don’t have any toxic plants growing (list here : http://rabbit.org/poisonous-plants/ ) and ensure that you have something blocking fences/walls so your rabbit doesn't dig under them such as concrete slabs or wire mesh going a few feet into the ground.

Make sure there are no wild animal faeces and no litter that your rabbit might decide to chew/eat.

If you cannot rabbit proof your whole garden, it may be worthwhile to buy an exercise pen or a run for your rabbit.

However, if your rabbit is running freely in your garden make sure you supervise at all times. Wild animals and neighbourhood dogs/cats are around all the time and are a threat to your rabbits.
